We are home-based child care in a clean, cozy and well-organized single family home in a beautiful, quiet Huntington Beach neighborhood.  We carry authentic Montessori philosophy throughout our classrooms and curriculum.

 

Our academically emphasized curriculum

The strong uniqueness of our school is  our "Bilingual Environment" and "Science Based Curriculum".  Throughout the school hours, children are exposed to two different languages, Japanese and English,  by communicating with our teachers. We create our classroom just like a bilingual family that one parent speaks one language, the other parent speaks another language.  Our daily science lesson is carefully planned to lead children to acquire scientific thinking; Observation>Question> Hypothesis> Experiment> Conclusion.

Our Unique curriculum ~Engineering & Coding Lessons

STEM is very important part of our curriculum. Our Pre-K and K students take Engineering & Coding Lessons once a week as a part of Montessori Program. This exciting hand-on lessons encourage kids to acquire problem solving skills through fun robot making.

Higher level of Coding and Programming lessons are also ready for Kinder & Elementary students as an enrichment curriculum for kids who are interested in. Please check Enrichment Curriculum page.

Why you want to choose MISST?

Our classrooms are very spacious, approximate 800 sqf in total. Our maximum enrollment is 14 children. These spacious and relaxing classrooms allow our children to acquire concentration and self-calming skills. Our teacher and child ratio is 1:7, which is much lower compared with 1:12 ratio in center-based preschools. We are very proud that we provide very close, family-like care to our precious children.

 

Our Before/After School care is beyond "just a child care". Not only do we follow up with homework, we give children Math, Language Art, Reading and second language lessons.  Comparing with most tutoring/recreation classes, our tuition is very competitive.
